Laid Pipe in Another World

What if the cheat power was competent plumbing? What if the hero was a foul-mouthed woman from Raleigh who did not care about the System, would not read her own stats, and mostly wanted a cold beer and a toilet that flushed?

where are the STATS

Okay I'm on chapter 22 of book two and I still have not gotten a single proper status screen. Not one. The MC has a Class and I have never seen the full sheet. She won't even LOOK at her own Ledger. Do you understand how insane that is. I have been raw-dogging this progression fantasy with zero numbers for two entire books.

No blue boxes. No skill trees. No damage breakdowns. At one point another character reads her stats OUT LOUD and the author still doesn't print them. That is psychological warfare.

And the worst part. The WORST part. I keep reading. I don't know why. I hate it here. I'm invested in a plumbing subplot. I audibly reacted to a pipe getting sealed correctly. Send help.

Anyway 1 star, would not recommend, starting chapter 23 tonight.

A Note Before We Start

Let's get this out of the way: this book is a joke. On purpose.

It started as a dare I made with myself. I was tired of isekai stories where a bored office worker falls into a fantasy world and instantly becomes the chosen one, complete with a cheat power, a harem, and a stat screen he checks like a stock portfolio. So I asked the dumbest question I could think of: what if the cheat power was competent plumbing? What if the hero was a foul-mouthed woman from Raleigh who did not care about the System, would not read her own stats, and mostly wanted a cold beer and a toilet that flushed?

That was supposed to be one chapter. A writing exercise. Get the itch out and move on.

It grew legs. Then it grew a town, a love interest, a barbecue subplot, and a phone that kills livestock. Now it's a series, and I have no one to blame but Lena.

So, a few warnings before you go in. Nobody agonizes over skill trees here. The stat screens exist; you will simply never see one, because Lena refuses to look, and honestly, so do I. The jokes are crude. The heart is real, and it tends to sneak up on you when you are busy laughing, which is the only way I know how to smuggle it in.

And yes, the cover is a joke too. Look at it. That is a romance-paperback fever dream: a shirtless, bookish man and a woman who could bench-press him, painted like it is 1994 and you found it in a grocery-store spinner rack. That is the entire point. If you picked this up for the abs, welcome; stay for the pipe fitting.

Have fun. I did.
